Qualified Pathologist – Cytopathologist. Teaching Environmental Pathology at the Medical School of the University of Athens.

Organized, implemented, and directed (2004-2014) the 2-year Postgraduate Master Program of the Medical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens entitled: “Environment and Health: Capacity Building for Decision Making”.

Engaged in Research and Medical Practice. Experienced in organizing seminars, intensive courses, and congresses, in building medical curricula, in coordinating European projects


Expert at the EU Commission on Environmental Health engaged in the science-policy interface

Experience as Consultant in the Private Sector


1. Medical Director in Sterling-Winthrop Pharmaceutical Company Athens Chapter Greece (1983 -1989). As a Medical Diretor in the Pharmaceutical Company she held the responsibilities of communication and continuous education of sales promoters. She acted as liaison between medical doctors (clients) and scientists of the pharmaceutical company answering questions on the mode of action and

use of the products. She also organized intensive seminars for the salesman of the company updating them on current scientific information relevant to their work.


2. Currently expert advisor in the Climate Change committee of the National Bank of Greece. As an expert advisor in the Climate Change (CC) committee of the National Bank of Greece engaged in CC health effects. She is currently participating on the strategic planning of CC and Health activities focussing on:


a) producing a document that will be complementary to the already published study.

b) awareness raising of decision makers on CC and the relation with health effects and

c) Implementation of adaptation measures of CC in relation with health effects.

d) Environmental Health and Environmental Justice
